The Home Care Trach Team: Navigating and Networking

Caring for a patient at home with a tracheostomy tube requires the support and individual attention of an interdisciplinary tracheostomy home care team. The presenter will discuss the steps to forming a home tracheostomy tube including team composition, protocols and educational processes. The role of the closed position tracheostomy valve will also be emphasized. This one hour course will provide for respiratory therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses and other health care professionals working in the home care environment an overview of the importance of the integrated team approach to tracheostomy care.
